SGMC congratulates Bridgett Young, RN, OCN, for her recent promotion to Director of Cancer Services for the Pearlman Comprehensive Cancer Center. Young has worked for SGMC for more than 14 years as a staff nurse, patient care coordinator and nurse manager. As SGMC’s Director of Cancer Services, Young is now responsible for the strategic planning, development, operational activities and continuous improvements within the cancer center. She is also responsible for assuring compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies. Young says her top priority will always be assisting cancer patients through their individual journeys with the love and compassion they deserve. Her goal is to continue to aid in the continued growth and improvement of the center through the changing face of healthcare as well as to provide the cancer center staff with the resources they need to continue performing at their best.Young is a graduate of Arizona State University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Subsequently, she received certification as an oncology nurse and a cancer exercise specialist. She is a committee member of the Partnership Cancer Fund and the Oncology Nursing Society. Young enjoys watching football, reading and making trips to the beach. She has two daughters, Kelsey and Sydney.
