South Georgia Medical Center is partnering with the Valdosta State University Center for South Georgia Regional Impact to conduct its Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) for the SGMC Lanier Campus.
Lanier County residents are encouraged to complete an online survey regarding the health needs and preferences of the community. These results will be used by SGMC to guide health programs and initiatives provided to the area. Residents can complete the survey by visiting sgmc.org/chnasurvey.
According to Lanier Campus Administrator Geoff Hardy, this year’s survey is especially important to determine future investments by the organization to enhance the campus and facilities available to Lanier County residents.
Hardy shared, “This is a great opportunity for our community members to engage in creating a healthier and more vibrant future for healthcare services in Lanier County.” As an additional incentive to participate, respondents will have a chance to win a $250 VISA gift card upon completing the survey.
According to the latest economic impact numbers released for fiscal year 2021, SGMC Lanier Campus had an annual economic impact of $43 million.
SGMC Lanier Campus is a 25-bed critical access hospital providing acute inpatient care and a variety of other healthcare services to include: imaging, laboratory, emergency, rehabilitation, and swing bed.
The CHNA is a federal requirement for all not-for-profit hospitals under the Affordable Care Act. For more information, visit sgmc.org.
