The new Imaging Center and Women’s Imaging Center is located on the first floor of the Professional Building. The new Imaging Center and Women’s Imaging Center at South Georgia Medical Center opens for business on Monday, August 1, 2011. Services will cease at the former location of the SGMC Imaging Center at North Oak on Friday, July 29 at 5 pm when that facility will close. The state-of-the-art new facilities are located in the SGMC Professional Building at 2409 North Patterson Street and feature some of the most advanced imaging equipment on the market. “Our goal is to provide convenient, quality imaging studies for both men and women,” explains Teresa Tenery, RT (R), director of Medical Imaging. “We are excited to have a separate facility that offers a full range of imaging capability. Nearby parking makes it more convenient, and since we are not working in emergency cases it will be more efficient with quicker service.”Services offered in the new facility include: digital mammography, a 64-slice computed tomography (CT) scanner, ultrasound, bone densitometry, digital X-ray including fluoroscopy, and the community’s only fixed-base positron emission tomography scanner with 64-slice CT (PET-CT). Our expert, licensed technologists and board-certified, local radiologists deliver the highest quality results to ensure diagnostic accuracy. By providing superior service in a caring and compassionate manner, we make the imaging process simple and trouble free. We hope to earn your trust and become the provider of choice for all your diagnostic imaging needs. The Imaging Center and Women’s Imaging Center are the first free-standing imaging facilities in Lowndes County and our region. The Centers are open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. For more information, call 229.293.3600 or visit www.sgmc.org.
