Registration is currently open for the Glow On The Green Fore Men’s Health golf tournament hosted by South Georgia Medical Center.
According to event organizer Emily Wetherington, Director of SGMC’s Pearlman Cancer Center, “Men face unique health challenges. Our goal is to improve men’s health through raising awareness about preventive screenings and regular health care for men of all ages. It is crucial that men receive regular checkups and are aware of the risks for their age, ethnicity, and lifestyle.”
Preventive screenings and annual checkups declined as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This event serves as a reminder for men to make their health a priority. All proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit men’s health awareness through Pearlman Cancer Center’s educational outreach programs and screenings.
The event will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club. Designed by professional golfer, David Love III, the course consists of 7,781 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The unique game will be divided in half, playing nine holes before dark. The first nine holes will be followed by dinner in The Oaks. The game will then continue with the last nine holes played in the dark! Following the tournament, there will be three awards given to the Low Gross, Low Net, and Bullseye Challenge Winner.
Check in will begin at 4pm with the tournament beginning at 5pm. Registration, $200 per person or $800 per team, includes the Glow Golf Experience, green fees, prime rib dinner, two drink tickets, and a tee gift.
