SGMC Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Flail, DO, as its 2025-2026 Chief of Staff, as voted on by her peers. Dr. Flail, an accomplished Emergency Medicine Physician, brings over a decade of dedicated service to the Valdosta community. She takes this position following two years as Chief of Staff Elect.
A Valdosta native, Dr. Flail developed her passion for medicine early, shadowing her father, who also served as an emergency medical physician. Over the past decade, she has practiced in the emergency departments at SGMC Health Main and SGMC Health Smith Northview, serving as the Co-Director of both as well as the health system’s two urgent cares.
As Chief of Staff, Dr. Flail will provide leadership and guidance to the medical staff of over 700 providers, ensuring effective communication between the medical team, administration, and the Hospital Authority Board of Trustees. Her extensive experience and deep roots in the community make her uniquely qualified to lead SGMC Health into a new era of excellence.
“We are thrilled to have Dr. Flail step into this vital role,” said Pankaj Agrawal, MD, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at SGMC Health. “Her dedication to quality, safe patient care and her visionary leadership will undoubtedly strengthen our organization and benefit our community.”
Dr. Flail earned her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Georgia and completed her residency training in emergency medicine at the University of Florida Shands.
