SGMC Health is pleased to announce the promotion of Eddy West to Director of Enterprise Applications. In his new role, West will oversee the day-to-day activities of the health system’s enterprise applications and data teams, including data and device integration, ERP solutions, and data analytics. Enterprise applications are advanced software systems that enable healthcare organizations to manage patient care more effectively, streamline operational workflows, and enhance collaboration between healthcare providers. This vital work is part of the broader Information Services division, aimed at improving efficiency and delivering top-tier patient care.
West’s advancement is a testament to his 13-year journey at SGMC Health, where he has consistently delivered innovative solutions and demonstrated unwavering commitment. Starting in 2011 as an Interface Analyst, he quickly distinguished himself by co-creating a cost-efficient integration tool for medical record software used at the time. Over the years, West has successfully managed major initiatives, including leading the interface team during SGMC Health’s transition to the Epic electronic health record system. His ability to juggle complex projects led to his promotion to Manager of IT Applications in 2023, where he directed a talented team of system administrators, interface analysts, and developers.
“I am honored to step into this role,” said West. “I have a passion for solving complex puzzles, and as Director, I’ll gain a comprehensive view of the challenges we face. This perspective will allow me to design solutions that improve data accessibility and operational efficiency, ultimately enhancing the care we provide to our patients.”
West holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Valdosta State University and is on track to complete his MBA in Healthcare Management by the end of 2025. He is also an active member of the Project Management Institute, reflecting his dedication to professional growth and continuous learning.
Outside of work, West enjoys spending time with his wife, Rachel, to whom he has been married since 2008, and their three sons.
