SGMC Health is proud to announce new leadership within the health system. Jessica Busque has been named the Director of Medical Staff Services, and Julie Blodgett has been named the Director of Physician Recruitment.
Busque brings nearly a decade of experience at SGMC Health to her new role as Director. With a proven track record of success, Busque will play a vital role in overseeing the credentialing and privileging of the health system’s medical staff and affiliates. She has served in various roles at SGMC Health to include denials management, provider enrollment, and most recently as Manager of Medical Staff Services.
“I am excited for the opportunity to take on this new challenge and responsibility,” shared Busque. “I am excited and eager to work with our health system leadership as well as our exceptional providers to continue to make SGMC Health a top patient destination focused on high-quality care and patient safety.”
Busque earned an associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix, an associate’s in Medical Billing and Coding from Colorado Technical University, and a bachelor’s of science in Healthcare Management from Liberty University.
Blodgett, who previously served as Medical Staff Services Director, will now lead physician recruitment efforts. As the Director of Physician Recruitment, she will work with physician candidates to connect them with the health system and community. This includes building relationships with medical schools and residency programs to draw physicians to the organization.
She shares her excitement for expanding the medical staff by adding even more strong candidates to our growing physician network. “Physician recruiting is exciting because you are building the future of healthcare for the community for many decades to come,” said Blodgett.
Blodgett is a Valdosta native and has been with SGMC Health for over 7 years. She received her bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration, both from Valdosta State University.
She is a graduate of the Leadership Lowndes Class of 2022 and a member of the Southeast Physician Recruiters Association, the Association for Advancing Physician and Provider Recruitment, and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
