SGMC Health presented Cassandra Sapp, Patient Care Technician, with the January Being Extraordinary Everyday (BEE) Award. Sapp was recognized for her exceptional compassion and care by a patient’s family.
Sapp was nominated by a member of SGMC Health leadership who received heartfelt thanks directly from the family. They recounted how Sapp provided extraordinary care to their elderly father, who was battling illness and not acting like himself. Despite the patient’s uncharacteristic demeanor, Sapp maintained a high standard of care and empathy. Her unwavering commitment and compassionate approach left a profound impact on the family, who described her as a true blessing during a challenging time.
The BEE Award is presented monthly to recognize non-nursing staff members, including patient care technicians, nursing assistants, and medical assistants, who exemplify extraordinary dedication, teamwork, and compassion in supporting the nursing staff. Nomination criteria include qualities like leadership, attitude, and clinical skills.
SGMC Health offers a variety of recognition programs to honor employees who embody its core values of “Remarkable People, Extraordinary Care, Human Kindness.” To learn more about the BEE Award and other recognition programs, visit sgmc.org/recognition.
