SGMC Health recognized Caila Price, Patient Care Technician, with the March Being Extraordinary Every day (BEE) Award. Price was honored for being a compassionate caregiver and team player during a very busy day on the unit.
Price was nominated by a coworker on 3West who described her assistance with a patient requiring complete care from the hospital staff. Her teamwork, combined with her positive attitude, left a very positive impression on her fellow techs and nurses.
“Even though this patient was not assigned to Caila, she went out of her way the entire shift to assist the staff,” shared the nomination. “Not only did she help with the bed, bath, and every brief change, she also showed the patient the utmost comfort and respect regardless of the circumstances.”
The BEE Award is presented monthly and recognizes staff members who support the role of a nurse, which includes patient care technicians, nursing assistants, and medical assistants. Nomination criteria include compassion, teamwork, leadership, attitude, and skills and knowledge.
