SGMC Health Continues Adjusted Operations Due to Winter Storm Enzo

Posted on: January 22nd, 2025

Due to Winter Storm Enzo, SGMC Health, its campuses, and affiliates will continue with adjusted hours of operation for Wednesday, January 22 for the safety of our employees, patients, and visitors.

The following services will remain closed for the entirety of the day on Wed., Jan. 22:

  • SGMC Urgent Care (North Valdosta and Griffin Ave.)
  • Outpatient Services
  • Pearlman Cancer Center
  • SGMC Physician Network clinics

The following services will open at noon and close at 6pm on Wed., Jan. 22 and Thurs., Jan. 23:

  • Visitation at Hospital Campuses (Main, Smith Northview, Berrien, and Lanier)
  • Medical Center Pharmacy

A decision will be forthcoming regarding operations on Thurs., Jan 23 for SGMC Urgent Cares, Physician Network clinics, outpatient services, and the Pearlman Cancer Center.

SGMC Health’s emergency departments at its Main, Smith Northview, Lanier, and Berrien campuses remain open. Inpatient care continues at these facilities and the Langdale Hospice House and SGMC Health Villa. Our teams are dedicated to serve all those who call on us for care.

Please note that Emergency Medical Services is experiencing delayed response times due to hazardous road conditions and an increase in calls. We strongly encourage everyone to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. Please do not call 911 for weather updates.

As a reminder, hospitals must prioritize caring for patients with emergent medical needs and are not equipped to serve as shelters. For those needing shelter, The Women’s Building, located 1409 N. Patterson St. In Valdosta, and Quola Soup Kitchen, located at 115 E Florida Ave. in Valdosta, are open to the public.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work to keep everyone safe during this time. SGMC Health is communicating with area Emergency Management Agencies and is operating its Incident Command Center to monitor and direct activities related to the winter storm.
