SGMC Health is proud to announce new leadership within the health system’s emergency services. Craig Grace, RN, has been named Director at SGMC Health Main, and Lynn Seymour, RN, will serve as Director at SGMC Health Smith Northview and Urgent Care.
Grace has served as Interim Director for the past four months. Under his leadership, he has facilitated improved patient throughput by streamlining Express Care to include point-of-care testing, decreasing the length of stay for non-emergent patients.
Grace joined SGMC Health in May of 2021 and has served as a Patient Care Coordinator and staff RN. He obtained his nursing degree from Albany State’s bridge program. Prior to becoming a nurse, he served as a staff paramedic, shift lieutenant, training captain, and emergency medical services chief. He also previously served as a paramedic instructor at Albany Technical College.
Seymour brings extensive experience to her new role with an impressive 15-year career in emergency medicine. She has been an invaluable member of the health system for nearly 12 years, most recently serving as the Manager of the Smith Northview Emergency Department. Prior to her career at SGMC Health, she served as a flight medic.
“I am excited about the opportunity to implement processes that will enhance the patient experience for all who call on us for care,” shared Seymour. “I look forward to continuing to build upon the success of our emergency department and urgent care facility here at Smith Northview.”
Seymour earned her associate degree in nursing from Excelsior University and is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration. She is a member of the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing and a student associate at the American College of Healthcare Executives.
SGMC Health operates four emergency departments across Lowndes, Berrien, and Lanier counties, treating more than 100,000 patients annually. An additional 28,000 are served by SGMC’s Urgent Care annually. SGMC Health Main is a certified Level III Trauma Center by the Georgia Department of Public Health.
