SGMC Health Adjusts Operations Due to Winter Storm Enzo

Posted on: January 21st, 2025

Due to Winter Storm Enzo, SGMC Health, its campuses, and affiliates are adjusting hours of operation for Tuesday, January 21, and Wednesday, January 22 for the safety of our employees, patients, and visitors.

The following services will close Tuesday at 6pm.

  • SGMC Urgent Care (North Valdosta and Griffin Ave.)
  • Visitation at Hospital Campuses (Main, Smith Northview, Berrien, and Lanier)

Weather permitting, all visitation, urgent care centers, outpatient services, physician network clinics, and the medical center pharmacy will delay opening Wednesday, until 12pm noon.

SGMC Health’s emergency departments at its Main, Smith Northview, Lanier, and Berrien campuses will remain open. Inpatient care will continue at these facilities and the Langdale Hospice House and SGMC Health Villa. Our teams remain dedicated to serve all those who call on us for care.

In times of weather emergencies, SGMC Health physicians and team members work tirelessly to provide lifesaving care to those in critical need. To ensure we can continue doing so effectively, we are asking the community for your cooperation.

Please note that Emergency Medical Services will have delayed response times due to hazardous road conditions and an anticipated increase in calls. We strongly encourage everyone to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. Please do not call 911 for weather updates.

As a reminder, hospitals must prioritize caring for patients with emergent medical needs and are not equipped to serve as shelters. For those needing shelter, The Women’s Building, located 1409 N. Patterson St. In Valdosta, and Quola Soup Kitchen, located at 115 E. Florida Ave. in Valdosta, are open to the public.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work to keep everyone safe during this time. SGMC Health is communicating with area Emergency Management Agencies and has opened its Incident Command Center to monitor and direct activities related to the winter storm.
