SGMC Berrien Campus recently received a $10,000 donation from local businesses as a part of fundraising efforts during breast cancer awareness month.
Local Nashville businesses Chaparral Boats, B&H Electronics, and Coyote Trailers coordinated a special initiative in October to support the SGMC Foundation’s annual breast cancer campaign. Chaparral Boats invited employees and community members to purchase an expertly smoked Boston Butt with all proceeds benefiting the SGMC Berrien Campus.
This generous donation will be used to advance breast cancer education and awareness in the Nashville community, including providing preventative screenings, such as mammograms.
Breast cancer still remains one of the most common forms of cancer found in women in the United States. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 1 in 8 women in the nation will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.
SGMC offers a comprehensive breast cancer program that includes imaging, surgery, and cancer treatment. Patients are able to schedule their annual mammogram online without a physician order.
