Dr. Jeff Anucha specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders and diseases related to the gastrointestinal tract. He has expertise in managing conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), liver diseases, pancreatic disorders, and gastrointestinal cancers. He is also experienced in performing endoscopic procedures, including upper endoscopies and colonoscopies, which play a vital role in the prevention and early detection of colorectal cancer.
Dr. Anucha received his medical degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Harlem Hospital Center in New York City, where he also served as Chief Medical Resident. He went on to complete his gastroenterology fellowship, also at Harlem Hospital Center.
He shares that he believes in building strong relationships with his patients based on trust, empathy, and open communication. “I take the time to listen to their concerns, educate them about their conditions, and involve them in the decision-making process regarding their treatment options,” he says.
Dr. Anucha says that he became a physician because he has always been passionate about helping others and making a positive impact in their lives.
“The complexity of the human body has always fascinated me, and I wanted to pursue a career where I could combine my scientific interests with my desire to care for people.”
He is also passionate about continuing to learn about his specialty, vowing, “I am dedicated to staying at the forefront of medical knowledge and continuously enhancing my skills to provide the best possible care to my patients.”
Dr. Anucha is married to his wife, Evelyn, and they have two children. In his free time, he enjoys reading, outdoor activities, and photography.
