PFS Staff Gift Easter Surprise

Recently, a patient’s husband walked into Patient Financial Services wanting to see the group of ladies that provided him with a gift card. In his hand he had a card, cupcakes and box of chocolate. The man and his wife were returning home (Chicago) from Disney World approximately two weeks ago when the wife needed medical attention and they came to SGMC.A group of Patient Financial Services employees noticed their RV in the parking lot for an extended time and with Easter approaching, the employees thought they could use a special Easter surprise. The employees collected money among themselves, purchased a $100 Visa gift card and knocked on the RV’s door. The husband was surprised and thankful. They held hands and prayed together for his wife.Our kind and caring employees are: Kim Stracener, Jessica Busque, Linda Spraggins, Kaitlyn Ashley-Spell, Kimberly Neal, Crystal Tompkins, Camille Mitchell, Joan Everitt, Kelly Blankenship, Tammie Brantley, Anna Day and Jessica Wyatt.Management was unaware of their act of kindness until the patient’s husband walked into PFS with a big smile on his face. He expressed his gratitude and shared that the prayers worked, his wife was being discharged and they would be on their way home to Chicago. He shared that his wife feels her experience at SGMC has been better than other hospitals they have visited in the past. They shared that the SGMC employees are caring, dedicated staff that just can’t do enough. They said they will never forget the love and care while here at SGMC.Hats off to the PFS team, as well as the staff that provided top notch patient care.
