Our mission is to provide a comprehensive rehabilitation program of the highest quality in order to improve the functional independence of those we serve. We assist patients with a variety of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities. We help patients achieve their highest level of functional independence so they can return to the community.
Rehabilitation Services Overview
SGMC Health provides a number of rehabilitation services.
Acute Hospital-Based Rehabilitation
The acute hospital-based therapy team provides services to medical and surgical patients. Therapies include physical and occupational therapy as well as speech-language pathology. Our therapists work together with case managers, social workers, acute care nursing staff, physicians, and family members to evaluate a patient’s current condition, provide therapeutic interventions as indicated to assist patients in regaining prior functional status, and determine any subsequent level of rehabilitation care. They are located at all four hospital campuses.
Inpatient Rehabilitation
SGMC Health Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit helps patients who have suffered from functional loss due to a disabling illness or injury.
