South Georgia Medical Center named Richard Huth administrator of its Berrien and Lanier Campuses located in Nashville and Lakeland, Georgia. Huth previously served as the Chief Executive Officer at Shands Live Oak Regional Medical Center in Live Oak, Florida, and Tallahassee Memorial Hospital/Doctors Memorial Hospital in Perry, Florida and Chief Operating Officer at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, Florida.
“I am looking forward to growing the services at both hospitals to improve the level of healthcare in these communities,” said Huth. SGMC Berrien Campus was formed in 2013 when SGMC purchased the original Berrien County Hospital. Today, the hospital is licensed for 63 beds, 12 of which are geriatric/psychiatric beds, and provides general medical services for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room patients.
SGMC Lanier Campus (formally Louis Smith Memorial Hospital) was established in 1950 and operates as a 25-bed critical access hospital providing acute and sub-acute care.
