Volunteer Auxiliary Installs New Officers & Awards Pins

The South Georgia Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary installed new officers at their annual luncheon on September 24, 2010 and presented patches and pins for hours of service. Auxiliary officers for Fiscal Year 2011 are: President, Doris Welch; President-Elect, Nancy Cunningham; Vice President, Jeanette Roberson; Treasurer, Evelyn Harrell; Recording Secretary, Ann Harris; Corresponding Secretary, Cora Crosby and Parliamentarian, Georgia Emerson.Auxiliary members receiving patches for 50 hours of service are: Ryan Fountain, Anita King, Jean Oliver and Bill Smith.Those receiving pins for hours of service are: (100 hours) Inday Bauer, Woneska Cribb, Nancy Cunningham, Ryan Fountain, Anita King, Melba Powell, Bill Smith; (300 hours) Lee Cornelius, Ray Kempner, Rachel Lofton; (400 hours) Carroll Griffin, Beverly Sykes; (500 hours) Marjorie Smith, Sonya Warren; (600 hours) Mary Cole, Ralph Guarino; (700 hours) Terry Grenat; (800 hours) Alice Lawrence; (900 hours) Bill Cole, Hazel Stafford; (1000 hours) Dulcie Bittner, Joann Russell, Charlene Schreffler, Robert Travillian, Dick Uhlir; (2500 hours) Ellie Bridges; (4000 hours) Marion Anice Cross; (4500 hours) Ann Harris; (5000 hours) Cora Crosby; (5500 hours) Ruth Lindauer and (8000 hours) Stella Taw.The theme of the 2011 Auxiliary year is “Together We Shine.” Patient Relations and Volunteer Services Director Suzanne Taylor complimented the Auxilians saying, “Each of you brings sunshine into the hospital through your caring deeds and acts of kindness.”The Volunteer Auxilians, or Pink Ladies and Red Coats as they are called, work daily in the hospital’s Golden Galleria gift shop, Pearlman Cancer Center, Intensive Care Waiting Room, Cardiac ICU, Inpatient Rehab, Outpatient Surgery, Patient Care Services and many other departments to provide extra care and attention to hospital patients and staff.For more information on volunteer opportunities at SGMC, call Suzanne Taylor, Director of Patient Relations & Volunteer Services at 229-259-4412.
