Henderson Family Donates $10,000 to SGMC Foundation

Posted on: July 7th, 2011

Beverly & Doug Henderson presented a check for $10,000 from the Doug Henderson III, Memorial Fund to the South Georgia Medical Center Foundation during a luncheon on July 25, 2011.  The annual golf tournament fund raiser was held in March 2011 in memory of one of the Henderson’s sons, Doug Henderson, III. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Langdale Hospice House.  Doug Henderson, III, passed away in 2003 after fighting a long battle with synovial sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of soft tissue cancer.  Each year, the Henderson family raises funds in their son’s memory to support a local charity, organization or provide local students with scholarships.Pictured (back row, l-r): Randae Davis, Community Foundation of South GA director; Greg Hembree, SGMC CFO; Pam Cartwright, SGMC Assistant Administrator  of Clinical Services; Doug Henderson;  Della Perkins, Langdale Hospice House Volunteer Coordinator; Randy Sauls, SGMC CEO; Katie Hardin, Hospice of South GA Referral Development Liaison; Connie Register, Hospice of South GA Bereavement Coordinator; (front row, l-r): Beverly Henderson, Memorial Fund Founder; Amanda Patterson, Hospice of South GA, Director;  Leigh Ann Hogan, Auction & Golf Tournament Co-Chair; Elizabeth Vickers, SGMC Foundation Director; James Lee Herndon, SGMC Foundation President.
