Diabetes Physician Dies

South Georgia Medical Center and the SGMC Diabetes Management Center are saddened to announce the death of Endocrinologist Enrico Ruffy, MD on Friday, September 3. Dr. Ruffy had been affiliated with SGMC for the past two years and treated patients at SGMC’s Diabetes Management Center. Randy Sauls, SGMC administrator, expressed condolences on behalf of the hospital. Sauls and other members of the administrative team are putting together a plan to notify and help manage Dr. Ruffy’s large patient base.”On Tuesday, we will begin personally notifying Dr. Ruffy’s patients to explain their options for diabetes care,” Sauls said.Dr. Ruffy was well respected and liked by his patients and co-workers. He relocated from New York and was a former medical practitioner with the Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology in Huntington, NY.
